Catherine Schwarz Obituary

SCHWARZ, CATHERINE E., 80 of Sea View Drive, Warwick, died Tuesday, January 18 at West Shore Health Center. She was the wife of Reiner Schwarz.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John M. and Mary E. (Arruda) Fleming, she was a life-long resident of the Oakland Beach section of Warwick.

She was a recipient of the Jefferson Award for her tireless efforts to maintain the serenity of Brush Neck Cove and the surrounding environment. She enjoyed nature and traveling.

Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Keith W. Bowman of Warwick, Robert D. Bowman of Saunderstown, Ray Bowman of Newport News, Virginia, and Glenn Bowman of Burrillville; one brother, Cornelius 'Pat' Flemming of Las Vegas; five sisters, Josephine V. Shread of Baton Rouge, LA, Irene F. Michael of Coventry, Beatrice A. Deal of Elberta, AL, Eleanor J. Follett of Wakefield and Margaret A. Matzek of Ohio. She was the sister of the late Mary Hill, Richard, Raymond, and John Fleming.

Funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Friends may visit on Saturday 9-11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Cornerstone Adult Services, 140 Warwick Neck Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889.
