Cecile Roy Obituary

Roy, Cecile M.
91, born January 12, 1929, in Canada, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Imelda (Hemond) Roy. She is survived by her niece, Celine Giglio, who was also her care giver; and Jon Carleen whom she helped raise. She also leaves behind family and friends. Singing was her passion. In her earlier years, she was a singer in the Peloquin Chorale, where they were the main choir at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence. When she moved to Florida, she was also involved with her church's choir. She worked most of her professional life, caring for others.
I would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, for their caring and attention they have given my aunt during these trying times dealing with the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Funeral arrangements are made by Keefe Funeral Home in Lincoln, RI. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Saint Cecilia's Church in Pawtucket, RI at a later date due to the pandemic. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Ave., Pawtucket, RI. Matante Cecile. I have no idea how to put into words everything you have done for me. You have meant more to me than you will ever know. You were with my parents, the day I was born, and since that day, I know I had a special place in your heart. Throughout the years, you were present for mine and all my siblings birthdays and holidays. You were my Confirmation sponsor and also sang at my wedding. Those are moments I will always cherish. Thank you for the talks and the laughs we shared. During the summer, you liked going to restaurants, by the water, and would have your orange martini and scallops. I was there for you when you had you surgeries and helped you when you were able to go home. As the years went by, your health was declining and you could no longer live alone. Together we went through the transition of you needing more assistant than what I could provide. As heartbreaking as it was to see you decline, I knew that one day you would be reunited with your parents and your beloved dog, Mindy. That day has come and I am heartbroken. I am sure you were greeted with open arms into Heaven. I will love you always! Celine

Celine and family...we are deeply saddened upon learning of your Aunt's passing. She was a delightful individual, and welcomed us with open arms to the neighborhood. Cecile will be remembered in our prayers. May God Bless.
