Dear Everett, Jenny, Connie, Jess and grandchildren our deepest love and sympathy to you all on the passing of Darlene. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother and sister-in-law. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. There are so many memories that will stay with me forever. My fondest memory was when I was 10 years old and Everett and Darlene were newlyweds. I stayed with them that summer in New Hampshire. Darlene was a great cook, but this one night I got a big surprise..liver and onions! Oh boy, 2 hours later and 1/2 gallon of milk with Darlene by my side watching me eat every last bite till I was done. Needless to say, that was the first and last time I ate liver and onions. Darlene will always hold a special place in my heart as I loved her and will miss her very much. Our love to all of you, Billy and Lynne

Mom,

2 and 1/2 years ago you and Dad took me back home with 3 kids in tow. I know I have told you & Dad how much I appriciate everything you have done for me. When you went into the Hospital I knew in my heart you were not comming home, well at least not this home. I watched you and helped you 24/7. I may have grumbled a few times, but I would not go back and change a thing. The time I spent with you allowed me to get closer to you and Dad. You became my best friend.......we could finish each others sentences. I tried to visit as much as I could but it was very hard for me, because I knew you would be leaving me soon. How can you sit and watch someone you love so much die? Your last 2 days I held your hand and told you I was there for you. When you asked for the oxygen mask to be removed, I was right there holding you hand and wispering in your ear how much I love you, your eyes told me you understood. When you took your last breath, it was bitter sweet. My Mommy was gone but she would not be suffering anymore.

Everett, Jen, Connie, Jess, My heart is broken, the same as yours. We have shared so many memories over the years, and we are a close knit family. We will always have those memories, and we will at some point remember some funny thing that happened with your mother, and wife, and we will laugh again about it. But, for now, saying "Bye" is the hardest thing. But, we get to keep our love for each other forever, and those special memories. She's one of my favorite cousins. She will be very much missed. It's comforting to know she is now with Jesus and the rest of the family that has gone on ahead, and is in good hands. May God give you comfort and peace at this difficult time. We will keep her always in our prayers. "Irene and Bernard Mendes"
