Cheryl,
Joe told me about David. I feel very sorry to hear such news, I feel so sorry for You, Mary, Sue, and Alfred. I have not experienced such a loss. The closest was Judy. She was dear to me a close friend and my brother's wife.
In my personal beliefs, we know in advance when we will be born, and when and how we will die. We except what we are here to do. We have projects we are working on for our personal growth in learning. We have been here many times before to learn.
So much for my beliefs. I would be happy to recommend some books if you like. They are non religious and fascinating to me. Death is by no means the end. It is likely according to my belief that David's concciousness will remain until the end of his funeral. Don't be afraid to talk to him when you are alone. If he is around he can hear you, though he is unlikely to let you know that he can hear you, but he will if he can.
