Donald Darnbrough

DARNBROUGH, DONALD J., SR. passed away peacefuly, August 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of June (Benson) Darnbrough. Born in Smithfield, RI, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Stevenson) Darnbrough. Donald was a veteran of World War II, serving as a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army. He was a Mason for over 55 years and was a member of Nathaniel Greene Lodge #45, now affiliated with Harmony Lodge #9. Donald was an avid boater and fisherman enjoying many happy hours on the water. Donald retired from General Dynamics Corp. (Electric Boat Division) in 1989 after 40 years, most recently serving as Special Assistant to the general manager at Quonset Point, RI. Besides his wife he leaves three sons: Donald J. Darnbrough, Jr., David J. Darnbrough and his wife, Cheryl, Douglas J. Darnbrough, Esq. and his wife Cheryl, grandchildren: Jennifer Darnbrough, Jill Salinaro, Drew Darnbrough, Kerri Connolly, Dillon Darnbrough and Nicole Rusin. He was the beloved great grandfather of Zachary and Kailey Salinaro and Shane and McKenna Connolly. His funeral service will be held Thursday at 10am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
