Arthur Darnbrough III

Arthur "Duke" Darnbrough, III, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025. Arthur was born on January 11, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he was the eldest child of Arthur, II, and Pollyanna Darnbrough. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Karen A. Darnbrough, and he is survived by his two sons, Andrew Darnbrough and Matthew Darnbrough, and his four siblings, Deborah Darnbrough, Ann Agee, Stephanie "Taffy" Waugh and Will Darnbrough. When he was a child his family moved to Gallipolis, Ohio, where his father worked with the navy during World War II. Arthur graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1962. Thereafter, Arthur attended The Ohio State University where he would earn a bachelor's and a master's degree is U.S. History. Arthur taught history in the Columbus Public School District for thirty years, for both North and West High Schools, retiring in 1995. In his later years Arthur very much enjoyed working as a librarian at the Upper Arlington Public Library. A memorial service will be held at Rutherford Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio, 43085, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 1 PM.
