Whether it was showing me how to blow my nose, helping me tie my shoelaces or teaching me how to play Go Fish (bless her patience) and later Gin Rummy, my grandmother has been in my life as long as I can remember. As a grown woman, I recognize she also showed me how to be dignified, to have self-respect and the importance of friends, family and faith. She epitomized the saying, "live, laugh, love". No single woman, with the exception of my mother, has had such an impact on my life or brought more joy. No other loss in my life, with the exception of the eventual passing of my mother, has caused as much sorrow. We spent a lot of time together throughout my childhood and teenage years and though I grew more, and the time spent with her grew less, not a day passed without a thought of her. Not a day will ever pass without a thought of, or smile for, my gramma.
Help me Jesus
understand
Why you took my mother's hand
and led her away
From her children
Is it wrong for me to say
there were many nights
I prayed
you would forget
what her name is
And then softly
came that sound
as you laid your footsteps down
and carried her soul
to heaven
No greater sorrow
Have I known
As you took my mother home
No greater joy
No greater blessing
No greater love.

Please accept our sincere condolences on passing of your mother. I remember when Memere Landry was alive and everyone came to visit with her. Your mom was so nice and so much fun. She let me hold "her baby" and I thought that was pretty special.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Dot was a great woman. Shewas very friendly all the time. She was friends with my grandmother Helen Bernier. She took my daughter under her wing when she was very little. She watched her grow up.
