Douglas Baker Obituary

BAKER, JR., DOUGLAS L.
47, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his home in West Warwick, RI where he resided with his aunt Judy and uncle Joe since 2018. This world became a brighter place on January 24, 1974 in Warwick, RI when Douglas was born the son of Debbie (Saccoccia) Judson and the late Douglas L. Baker Sr.
Doug was a happy go lucky guy who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Some of his favorite activities was watching WWE wrestling, studying Native American artifacts, playing chess and going to Foxwoods. He also loved anything to do with wolves, eagles and food. After moving in with his Aunt Judy and Uncle Joe in 2018, he would often say that moving to RI and being with his cousins were the happiest times of his life. Doug was blessed with two tremendous Care Givers, Brenda Monahan and Neville Matroos, from day one of his arrival back to RI. Even though his short, yet exuberant life has ended, his joy will live on within those he touched.
Besides his mother Debbie, he is survived by his two sisters Tammy and Nicole; his four nephews: Carter, Connor, Noah and Landry; a niece, Olivia Deluca; five aunts: Judy Deluca, Robyn Corrigan, Cindy Tully, Karen and Elizabeth Baker; three uncles: Joe Deluca, Greg Baker and Paul Baker; and twelve cousins: Joseph Deluca, Julie Deluca, Jill Deluca, Kelly Robertson, Colleen Jeppesen, Susan Spooner, Jennie Cavanaugh, Breck, Brandon, Bridget and Brady Tully and Chad Baker and his maternal grandmother Gloria Boring of Florida. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Forrest Boring and his uncle Matthew Corrigan.
His funeral service will take place at First Baptist Church, 1613 Main Street, West Warwick, RI, on Saturday, January 30 at 3:00 p.m. Face coverings must be worn at all times and social distancing practiced. All other services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meeting Street School, 1000 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02905 or online at www.meetingstreet.org/Support-Us/Make-a-Gift. Remembrances may be shared at carpenterjenks.com.
