Edna Cousineau Obituary

COUSINEAU, EDNA A. (RATTEY), 85, formerly of Dahlia Street, Warwick, died on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Shady Acres in West Kingston. She was the wife of the late Anatole J. 'Ned' Cousineau.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late George and Louise (Cayer) Rattey, she lived in Warwick for 50 years, moving to West Kingston in 2006.

Mrs. Cousineau was employed in quality control at Mays Manufacturing in Warwick for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was a former member of St. Timothy Parish in Warwick and St. Timothy Women's Club.

She is survived by two sons, Mark S. Cousineau, and his wife Sue, of Middletown, CT, and Bruce G. Cousineau, and his wife Patricia, of Richmond; two sisters, Loretta Demers of Providence and Delores Menard of Pawtucket; and four grandchildren, Elise, Phillip, Corrine, and Courtney Cousineau. She was the sister of the late Ernest, Gerald, Leo, and Roland Rattey, and Estelle Scallin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 9, at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 1943 Cranston Street, Cranston. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-6 p.m. in the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Westbay Community Action, 224 Buttonwoods Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886.

I worked with Edna for 15 years at Mays. I worked in the heat treating department and saw her daily in the inspection dept. She was a wonderful person. I am very sorry to hear she passed.
