EDWARD PIETRZYK Obituary
Born in Central Falls he was a son of the late Wojciech and Mary (Spyrka) Pietrzyk. He lived in Pawtucket for the past 58 years.
Before retiring he was employed by the former Collyer Wire Co. as a Braider Tender for 46 years retiring in 1982.
Upon entering the Army during WWII he was assigned to the Tank Corp. serving with the 771st Tank Destroyer Battalion and received a Purple Heart for wounds received. He was later re-assigned to the Army Air Corp 856th Bomb Squad. He served in Rhineland, Northern France and Central Europe.
He was a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society.
Besides his wife he leaves his 2 loving daughters and their husbands Diane and Kenneth DuVal of Cumberland and Sandra and Peter Raistrick of Tiverton, nieces and nephews.
A funeral with Military Honors will be held Wednesday September 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Prayer Service in the Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. CALLING HOURS TUESDAY FROM 4:00 PM TO 7:00 PM.
