Elisabeth Charlesworth Obituary

CHARLESWORTH, ELISABETH S. 'BETSY', 59, of Katama Road, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, died Saturday at home surrounded by loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of David Charlesworth. They were married for 10 years.

Born in East Orange, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Arlene (Lenhoff) Simon.

She was a registered Nurse at University Otolaryngology for 5 years, previously at Mental Health Services of Johnston for 5 years, retiring in 2004. She was a graduate of URI, earning a BSN. She was a member of Hadassah. She was a former facilitator for the Northern RI Breast Cancer Support Group.

Devoted mother of David Butler at home and stepmother of Darrell Charlesworth of Foxboro, MA, Christy Flint of Randolph, VT and Leslie Cozzolino of Coral Springs, FL. Dear sister of Samuel E. Simon of Lexington, MA, Deborah Simon Patrucker of Mine Hill, NJ and Sara Simon Goldberg of Lincoln, RI. Loving grandmother of Kendra and William.

Funeral service Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.

I use to work at the Miriam where Betsy recieved her treatments. I was flawed to see that she had past. What a wonderful person she was. Betsy was one of the most courageous people I think I will ever have the pleasure of knowing.

Betsy was a great lady, she was such

a pleasure to work with!!! She always had a smile on her face,

no matter what she was going through. It is such a sad loss

for everyone who knew her. Everyone at ENT loved working with her and she will be greatly missed by all of us.
