Elvira Iasa Obituary

IASA, ELVIRA 'ANNIE', 103, of Lincoln Avenue, a homemaker, died peacefully November 1, 2006 at Orchard View Manor, East Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late John Iasa.

Born in Barrington, a daughter of the late Antonio and Angela (Santagata) Medici, she lived in Barrington for 103 years.

Mrs. Iasa was a communicant of Holy Angels Church and was a member of their St. Vincent de Paul Society. Annie enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter; Ann Kean-Stopfel and her husband Elwood of Barrington, two sons; Anthony Iasa and John Iasa both of Barrington, a brother; a former Barrington Police Chief John Medici of Barrington, two grandchildren; Michael Kean of Pawtucket and Kathleen Kean-Schafer and her husband Dr. Theodore Schafer, U.S.N., and two grandchildren; Owen and Amy Schafer all of Suffolk, VA. She was the sister of the late James, Louis and Harry Medici, Adeline Pezzullo, Easter Mastriano, Mary Coleman and Edith Medici.

Her funeral will be held on Monday November 6, 2006 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 a.m. with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington. Calling hours are Sunday 3-7 p.m.

Dear Anna, Anthony and Johnny, Your mother touched so many lives with her smile. She was a wonderful woman and a great cook. I have many fond memories of her and you kids when you were little. To Anthony,Johnnie and Annie,
Please accept my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers on the passing of your beloved mother. I remember all the good times that we had in that little house down the hill. I also remember the golf balls thru the
picture window . Those were days worth remembering , I also remember the long chats with your mother and smelling her good cooking coming up the hill. I know she is now at peace in heaven after 103 unbelievable years here. My thoughts with all of you and your families..
