LAURIE, EVELYN M. 69, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Nolia M. (Cordin) Laurie. Evelyn worked at D. Palmieri's Bakery in Johnston for many years and was a former Holy Union Sister for 21 years. She was an avid and devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, and she enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. Evelyn leaves three nephews, Jeffrey F. Laurie, Edward F. Laurie, Jr. of Leominster, MA and James S. Laurie, of Leominster, MA; two nieces, Colleen M. (Laurie) Dupont of Pawtucket and Lesley A. (Laurie) Almeida of Johnston and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward F. Laurie, Sr. VISITATION will begin Friday at 2 p.m. followed by Services at 5 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. We, her neighbors and friends at Simmons Village (Bldg 349)....want to extend our condolences to Evelyn's Family and Friends....Our whole building is in mourning due to her sudden passing. She was a veey wonderful, compassionate and intelligent woman. She will be dearly missed but always remembered and kept in our hearts and minds.

We also would like to extend our Deepest Sympathy to Jeanie, her best friend of 38 years who also lives in our building. We saw and know how close u two were and how much you loved, took care of and helped her.

I just seen Sister, last week that's what we called her at the Simmonsville Apartments, in Johnston RI where she lived. She was always smiling and was a very nice person. Never talked bad about anybody and friendly to all who met her. I respected her and give her great praise for who she was. I am so heartbroken about her sudden death, she never complained ever. I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to her entire family and her extend family at the Simmonsville Apartments.
