FRANCIS E. FAUBERT

FAUBERT, FRANCIS E., 65, of Lincoln Dr, No. Smithfield, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Carolyn R. (Bourget) Faubert whom he married October 1, 1966. Born in Woonsocket, Frank was the son of the late Charles E. and Leah C. (Deprez) Faubert.

Frank was the Owner and President of Faubert Insurance Center in Woonsocket for twenty- seven years before merging with the Soucy Insurance Agency in 2006. He was active in the Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island and sponsored a team in the Woonsocket Girls Softball League. Frank taught at the University of Rhode Island in their College of Business, where he earned his BA in 1965 and his MBA in 1975. He also attended the College of Insurance in New York City.

After thirty-one years of service, Frank retired from the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was also past president of the Woonsocket Kiwanis, 1987, and the North Smithfield Kiwanis, 2003-2005. Frank was also an avid golfer.

Besides his wife Carolyn, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Maynard and her husband Michael of East Greenwich and Cathleen Faubert of Boston, MA and four grandchildren, Sophia, Samuel, John and Joshua Maynard. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gabrielle Hardiman, Emile, Raymond and William Faubert.

His Mass of Christian Burial and military honors will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St, Slatersville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 - 7PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St, Woonsocket.
