Gilda Valente Obituary

VALENTE, GILDA (DiSANDRO), 87, of Johnston, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of John Valente. They were married for 59 years.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Anna M. (Emma) DiSandro.

Mrs. Valente was a supervisor for twenty-five years at both the former Trifari Jewelry Company of East Providence and the former Scope Box Display Company of Cranston, before her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the former United Commercial Travelers, of Johnston. Mrs. Valente resided at her present address for the past thirty-eight years.

Besides her husband she is survived by her loving daughters Linda J. Valente and Patricia A. Fabrizio and her husband Louis, Jr. all of Greenville. She was the cherished grandmother of Brenda A. Fabrizio and Louis J. Fabrizio, both of Greenville. Mrs. Valente was the caring sister of Evelyn Parisi, of Cranston and the late Silvio, Henry, Alfred, Emilio and Sylvester DiSandro and Eda M. Parisi.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. VISITING HOURS Tuesday 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rocco's Church, 926 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.

Hi Pat,

Just a note to say I was very sorry to read that your Mom has passed away. I remember all the good times at Allendale and at your parents home in Johnston. My Mom is 90 and lives with us in her home in Prov. Call me if you want, 421-4496. Would love to hear from you.
