Dear Extended Family,

Thank you for sharing Gloria with me and my brothers and sisters. I can still remember being included in the majority of the "Speaks" family activities prior to attending kindergarten. Like my mother, the family emphasis was on worshipping God, getting a good education, and keeping the children safe. When Gloria babysat with us she made us feel safe.

I remember when Gloria was in high school and she was responsible for
taking care of a lot of us. First there were six and before she got married there were a lot more. She was firm, yet patient.

Gloria was a role model and mentor before we could define the words. She was the eldest and the big sister. She was the example I followed when I eventually had to be responsible for taking care of my own siblings.

When Gloria got married, moved away, and had her own children, she often kept in contact with my mother. She was always interested in how we were doing. We were so thankful when the Searights moved back to Providence.

Over the years, along with our traditions, we have shared many triumphs and trials.Together we will miss Gloria's physical presence. Together we will remember her warm greetings and hugs. She often let us know that her love for us is infinite. Hopefully Gloria's demontration of strength and dignity will help us all find peace. Truly blessed, she is a Warrior for Christ, wearing the Armor of God.

We pay homage to Gloria's sacrifices and accomplishments. We are motivated and inspired to achieve, as we remain humble.

Well done, sweet and gentle servant. Well done.

To the Searight & Speaks Family,
My deepest sympathy over the loss of Gloria, a great wife, mom, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother and friend! She will be sadly missed, but I know she will always be with us in spirit. I can not be with you physically to lay Gloria to rest, but you are in my thoughts& prayers and I will be with you in spirit.

Gloria loved her life, her family and family gatherings. Junebug, Rita, Cooley, Corey and Cynthia, your mom loved you so much that she endured many years of suffering just to be with you and your families enjoying each day that God gave her. Eddie, she used to tell me often how glad she was to have you and thanking God for you everyday. Thank you for loving her and showing us how unconditional love should be. But I thank you Gloria for befriending me so many years ago and continuing that friendship up to this day. Attending my wedding was one of the many special things you did and meant so much to me. So I will miss you my friend, but I know you are at peace with your father, God, your earthly father, Bernie, your mom Mary Ross, Vinny, Rosemary, Judy, Debbie and a host of others. So, until we met again, may you always rest in peace

Mrs. Searight, you're truly an amazing and beautiful woman. Your smile lit up the room and your gentle and loving personality made people flock to you. You will be truly missed and you leave behind a brother in Corey who will carry your legacy and will be well taken care of by all the "sons" you leave behind. May god bless Rita, Cynthia, Eddie, Davida, Corey and especially Mr. Searight who lost his best friend. God needed an angel to assist him with his work and Mrs. Searight it was you he chose so do your work and look down upon your family that will truly miss you and all that you bring. God Bless the entire Searight Family and if you all need anything, please don't hesitate to call.
