Helene Chazan Obituary

CHAZAN, HELENE S. (NASOFF), 68, of 290 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, an interior designer, died Monday at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of Dr. Joseph A. Chazan.

Born in New York a daughter of Hannah (Grabel) Hasoff of Poughkeepsie, NY and the late Hyman Nasoff, she had been a resident of Providence for over 35 years.

Mrs. Chazan was a graduate of Buffalo State Teacher's College and she was a member of Temple Beth El.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Michael J. Chazan of Providence, two daughters, Kimberly Chazan Zwetchkenbaum of Providence and Kathy Chazan Starr of Newton, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Lewis (Levi) Nasoff of Israel.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Temple Beth El, 70 Orchard Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Patients' Assistance Fund, c/o Dialysis Centers of RI, 324 Waterman Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914. Shiva to be observed at her late residence Wed. 7-9 and Thurs. 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For information, call SUGARMAN-SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL.
