Herbert S. Galkin

GALKIN, HERBERT S., 82, of 133 Bretton Woods Dr., Cranston, died Saturday at home. He was the beloved husband of Trudy (Breitkopf) Galkin. They were married for 58 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Ira S. and Anna (Kenner) Galkin, he had lived in Cranston for 52 years and in Boynton Beach, FL.

He was vice president of American Insulated Wire Corp. in Pawtucket before retiring in 1989. Herbert was a founding member of Temple Sinai as well as its past president and treasurer. Devoted father of David G. Galkin, Esq. and his wife Ellen of Sharon, MA, Dr. Harris M. Galkin and his wife Julie of East Greenwich and Paula G. Wasser and her husband Bruce of Warwick. Dear brother of Arnold T. Galkin of Providence and twin brother Irwin L. Galkin and his wife Carol. Loving grandfather of Evan, Jason, David, Leah, Andrew and Ianna. Cherished great grandfather of Noah and Greta.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in Temple Sinai, 30 Hagen Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Temple Sinai, 30 Hagen Ave., Cranston, RI 02920. Shiva will be observed at his late residence Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9. Arrangements by SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.
