Irving Haynes Obituary

HAYNES, IRVING BOGLE, 78, a noted painter, architect and long-time teacher at the Rhode Island School of Design, died Saturday, Aug. 27, at his home in Lincoln after a long illness.

He will be sorely missed by his wife, Jane Ingle, of Lincoln; his former wife, Helen Day Haynes, of Warren; his children Roderick S. Haynes, of Seattle, Washington; Elizabeth 'Libby' Haynes Brush, of Hartford, Conn.; Seth I. Haynes, of Warwick; and Helen 'Holly' J. Haynes Watts, of Milton, Mass; and by his nine grandchildren.

Recent paintings by Irving will be on exhibit at RISD's Industrial Design Gallery, 161 South Main St., Providence, beginning Sept. 27. Friends are invited to share their memories of Irving that evening at the gallery at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Irving's name can be made to RISD's Alumni Scholarship Fund, c/o The Development Office, Rhode Island School of Design, 2 College St., Providence, R.I. 02903.
