James K. "Jim" Feeney

1936 - 2021

FEENEY, JAMES K. (JIM)
85, of West Palm Beach, FL, and Westport, MA, died on July 2 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Jim was born in Fargo, ND, the youngest of four boys of the late Dorothy and Thomas Feeney. Jim graduated from of North Dakota State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, later serving as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1962. His chosen career began at Boeing, and then progressed to Honeywell and Sheldahl.
In 1977, Jim was asked to establish the North American sales and service operation for Germany-based Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) Corporation. Jim served as President for W&H North America for 24 years, building the business to extraordinary success. An active leader in the packaging machinery industry, Jim served as President of two associations—the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) and the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA). FPA inducted Jim into its Hall of Fame.
An exceptional leader with a sharp mind and a thoughtful approach to business, when Jim weighed in on a topic, people knew to listen. His legendary work ethic always made room for mentorship; Jim freely gave his time and attention to support employees, friends, and family in all matters professional and personal.
Jim retired in 2001, filling his days with golf and then embracing croquet at the National Croquet Center in FL and the Marion Mallet Club in MA.
Jim leaves his wife, Sandra; three sons, Jim Jr., Patrick; and Dan, daughter-in-law Mackie, and four granddaughters, Jaymi, Minerva, Tyler and Jesse.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Jim at the Squantum Association in Riverside, RI, on July 22 at 12:00 noon. A private burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Complete obit at www.monahandrabblesherman.com
