A treasured educator in my home town with a remarkable series of track and field records, some held to date. She was a friend to my mother while living at Atria.

Mrs. Stone created so many opportunities for young women in an era where sports were limited. She was my gym teacher at Barrington Junior High where she led Leader Corps (selected female students were chosen to ref intramurals and take on other leadership roles). She demanded excellence (timeliness, knowledge of rules, appearance) and passed along many life lessons that served us well beyond the courts, tracks and fields. Thank you and Rest In Peace.

Nancy, I´m so very sorry for the loss of Janet. She was a wonderful and inspiring woman. It was a pleasure to get to know both of you and to assist in taking care of her. She will be deeply missed

Mrs. Stone! My favorite gym teacher ever! I had her in my Jr. High years in Barrington. She was just an amazing, caring gym teacher, I loved her! You could tell how much she loved P.E. She organized skiing trips to NH too that were fabulous. I never knew she won a gold medal in the Olympics! And what a compassionate, caring legacy she left in many other areas of life. Rest in God's Heavenly peace, Mrs. Stone.
