John,

As long as I can
I will look at this world for both of us.
As long as I can
I will laugh with the birds,
I will sing with the flowers,
I will pray to the stars,
for both of us.
As long as I can
I will remember how many things on this earth were your joy.
And I will live as well as you would want me to live
As long as I can.

I miss and love you!

John, Randy was married last weekend and you were so much on our minds & in our hearts. Randy chose to wear one of your buttons instead of a flower on his lapel. There were more than a few tears shed...we miss you my friend. Your pictures are all over our house, and you still make us smile, especially with your 'Billy-Bob' teeth. Until we meet again.... Love you, Lori Jacob

I payed my respects to John yesterday afternoon and when I pulled up, there were the 5 people I'd always see John with: Jarrod, Randy, Mike, Dave & Scott. They had been there for a couple of hours sitting, reminiscing and laughing...I couldn't help but smile. It's said that you can always judge someone by the people they surround themselves with, and you couldn't surround yourself with anyone better than John Baker. If you knew John, you were lucky. If you knew him & spent time with him, you were blessed and a better person for it. I will always miss his jokes, silly one liners and his laughter.

Bob and Family, there are no words to lessen the pain you and your family suffer in the loss of John, but you can all take great comfort in knowing he was a very special person. From the first day I met him, at Midville Golf course when he joined the PNA Golf League, I knew he was a person who absolutely made you smile and laugh, I enjoyed playing golf with John, because I knew that no matter how tough my day had been, he would lighten it up with his warm, happy personality. Since relocating to San Diego, when I am out playing golf, I think about my many friends in the golf league, about how we enjoyed those Thursday afternoon rounds and how people like John made them all the more enjoyable. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. God Bless.

John didn’t just light a room up, John lit the world up. The first time I remember seeing John was at a junior high chorus recital – he was introduced and everyone cheered. Flash forward five years and there he was, dancing across the stage in that silly bumble bee costume to Blind Melon, with everyone cheering again. Everyone will always be cheering for John, his humor, his friendship, his love of life and laughter and his kindness.

My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends...

"Life goes by pretty fast.If you don't stop and look around once in awhile you could miss it"--Ferris Buellar/John Baker
I only remember that one line...John could recite the entire movie--line by line! We were all so lucky to have known John, even if it was for such a short time. I will always remember John's great sense of humor, his friendship, and our days spent playing kickball and "cops & robbers". Right now those memories bring tears to my eyes but one day they will bring a smile to my face--because you can't think of John Baker without smiling.
