John Santos Obituary

SANTOS, JOHN G. 77, a lifelong resident of East Greenwich passed away July 26, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Marie F. (DeMattia) Santos and was the husband of the late Joan (Essex) Santos. Born in East Greenwich, he was a son of the late Gil and Celia (Pancarowicz) Santos. John was an electronic technician at Raytheon for over 30 years, working on radar defense systems. He retired in 1999 at the age of 62. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. He was a US Army veteran. Besides his wife he is survived by three children; Jeffrey G. Santos, Jill D. O'Brien and Joseph Juffre, three grandchildren; Kayla and Matthew Santos and Camille O'Brien, two brothers; Richard and Michael Santos. Funeral service Thursday at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of East Greenwich, Peirce & Montrose Sts., E. Greenwich. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, N. Kingstown. Calling hours: Wednesday 5-8 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
