Joseph Zollo Obituary

ZOLLO, JOSEPH, 91, of Cranston, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Gloria M. (Valfredo) Zollo.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Vincent and Margaret (Giocola) Zollo, he came to RI in 1947 settling in Providence, before moving to Cranston in 1962.

Mr. Zollo worked for the U.S. Government as a production controller at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station for 30 years, and later at Electric Boat in North Kingstown, retiring in 1981.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WW-II. He was a member of Civilian Conservation Corps and United Commercial Travelers. Mr. Zollo was an avid New York Yankees Fan.

Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Marcia L. Stone and her husband Charles of Cranston; loving grandfather of Heather L. Stone of Cranston; and dear brother of Mary Romano, Helen Giangola, Rose Famighetti, Vera Mangogna, Anna Yodice, and Alfred, Ferdinand and Evelyn Zollo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday 5-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
