Joyce Chalko

CHALKO, JOYCE A. (LUCEY) of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of North Providence, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. She was the wife of Paul J. Chalko. They were married for 58 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Bailey) Lucey. She was employed as a Maintenance Administrator at New England Telephone Company, now known as Verizon for 33 years, prior to retiring. Joyce was a graduate of Saint Xavier Academy and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an avid reader of mysteries. Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Paul B. Chalko, of FL, Bethany J. "Beth" Chalko-Beland, and her husband, Ernest, of FL and William Chalko, of RI; her siblings, Carolann Lucey, of RI and Jack Lucey, of CA; and one granddaughter, Victoria Chalko, of RI, who was the love of her life. She was the sister of the late Nancy Lucey. Her funeral with visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 8:00 am, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Saint Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston. Interment will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
