Julia Landi Obituary
83, of Providence, died Thursday at Hope Hospice of R.I. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Landi. She was the daughter of the late Angelo and Francesca (Checca) Caraccia.
She leaves two daughters, Diane Landi-Shannon and her husband Francis, Lisa Landi, a son Christopher Landi and her grandson, Zachary Matuozzi.
She was the sister of the late Arthur, Anthony, Alfred and Angelo Caraccia, Rita Mattia and Theresa Carden.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Monday 4-7pm. Dear Diane, Lisa & Chris & Zachary: We are so very sorry to learn of the passing of your Beloved Mother. Julie was always so friendly & would stop to chat when she drove by with your Dad Sal. Your parents were wonderful people. May she rest in peace & may Jesus give you all strength, courage to endure your pain & loss at this most difficult time. She is now reunited with your Dad. When I was introduced to Julie and your family back in the late 80's I was 18 years old (about 30 years ago). She opened her home, her kitchen(delicious cavatelli with home made gravy), her pool and her heart . I was amazed at how accepting and awesome this woman was . I was a friend of a friend yet she fed me, she listened to me and showed so much compassion. I am so sorry for your loss .
