Keith Neyhart Obituary

NEYHART, KEITH B., 82, of Barrington and Bradenton, FL, died Sunday in Bradenton. He was the husband of 42 years of Dorothy (Evans) Neyhart.

Born in East Straudsburg, PA a son of the late Paul and Florence (Rowe) Neyhart, he lived in Barrington for many years. He was employed as a Central Office Technician for the NE Telephone Company for 40 years retiring in 1986. Active for many years in Masonic organizations, he was a Past Master of Washington Lodge #3 F&AM, Past High Priest of Temple Chapter #3 and a member of Webb Council #3 all in Warren, Washington Commandry #4 in Portsmouth, Calvary Commandry #13 East Providence, Palestine Temple Shrine, Ancient and Accepted Order of Scottish Rite, Past Patron of Unity Chapter O.E.S. Past Executive Officer and Past State Dad of the Order of DeMolay, Past Dad of Bristol County Rainbow for Girls, Gaspee Order of Swords of Bunker Hill, Past Associate Grand Lecturer of the Grand Lodge of RI, Associate Grand Chaplin of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter, Past Grand Marshall of the Grand Council. He was also the holder of the DeMolay Legion of Honor, the Cross of Color of the Order of Rainbow for Girls and the Grand Lodge Meritorious Award. Mr. Neyhart was also a member of the Silverhair Legislature, the Sojourners, AARP Barrington Chapter, Past State Citizen Coordinator of the AARP, Past President of the Barrington Little League and a WW II Coast Guard Veteran.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Thomas K. Neyhart of Plymouth, MA, a daughter Susan Winn of Longmeadow, MA, a brother Thomas B. Neyhart, a sister, Adeline Kresge both of Swiftwater, PA, and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue Riverside. Calling hours are Friday 4 to 7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Heart Association 275 Westminster Street Providence 02903 would be appreciated. Visit smithmason.com

I was sorry to read about Keith's passing in this morning's ProJo, which I go to every day while I am here in Florida. I remember him as a very nice family man - I used to babysit for him and Dorothy - way back in the 50's - so they had to be married more than 42 years.
