Kenneth Birch Obituary

BIRCH, KENNETH A., 70 years, a long time resident of East Greenwich and Orlando, FL, died October 18th at Kent County Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Prohaska) Birch, who was a former teacher in the East Greenwich School System.

Born in Warwick, he was son of the late Alfred and Edith (Nelson) Birch.

Mr. Birch, after working 30 years as a welding engineer for Amtrol, retired in 1996. He was a past president of the East Greenwich Jaycees'.

Besides his wife he leaves a son: Keith A. Birch of Mansfield, MA; a daughter, Sherry L. Taglione of Westerly; grandchildren, Alexandra, Alina and Katherine Birch, Jada and Curt Taglione; a brother, Alan Birch of Worcester and a sister: Susan Goudas of Warwick.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association or Animal Rescue League, Westerly-Chariho, P.O. Box 1237, Westerly, RI 02891.

I know Alan Birch well. Alan and I spoke about family, God, relationships, and life. May Kenneth, whom I never met, rest with the lord today. May Alan be at peace with the passing of his brother Ken.
