Kenneth Dore Obituary

DORE, KENNETH B. JR., age 77 of Portsmouth, RI passed away peacefully Friday after a long illness. Son of the late Kenneth and Edna Dore Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia A (Kerkhoff) Dore. He was survived by his sister Eleanor Taylor, children Dana L Dore-Hadad and husband Robert, Jana L Schultz and husband Paul, Charles K Dore and wife Teresa, six grandchildren; Nicholas, Keith and Jared Hadad, Joshua and Kristen Schultz and Chase Dore. He was the brother of the late Donald Dore. Kenneth was a lieutenant in the US Navy before earning a Bachelor of Science degree at RISD in Machine Design. He later earned his Master's degree in Engineering Management at Northeastern University. In retirement, Ken was actively involved with the United Congregational Church of Middletown, RI. He also pursued his love for photography as a member of the Island Photography Club and astronomy with the Skyscrapers Astronomy club. Ken's mantra was, "Things are looking up!" and his positive attitude was beloved by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at the United Congregational Church in Middletown, RI on Saturday December 29 at 1:00 PM.
