Louise is known as, "The Angel of Homefield". I coined her name after knowing her for only a short while.Twenty years later, I can honestly say that title always fit her. Louise was constantly there for everyone; and, everyone in our neighborhood knew and appreciated this fact. I was comfortable borrowing sugar, a hammer, a ladder or running over Christmas Day to borrow some ice. Now I wish that I had gone to Louise for that ice this past Christmas, for I know this would have been a mere delight for her to help me. She would be the one to give the first welcome to a new neighbor.. She would be the person most likely invited to family gatherings on Homefield, since she has made so many friends here. Typically, she would be seen on her porch with a neighbor sipping a coke or some tea.She had the gift of hospitality and everyone would be seen on her porch at one time or another during three seasons of the year.

Our family will fondly remember and miss Louise. Her life has impacted our lives in different but significant ways. She loved us and we loved her. It was that simple, but so real. She was full of fun and a mere joy to be around. She has been so special to each one of us. We will deeply miss her.

I could write a book about Louise so this is just a sampling of loving thoughts.Oh she was the neighbor who served as the welcoming committee for friends and family returning from our son's Baptism. She was given this role only after knowing her less than a year! We gave her this opportunity to "glow" since Louise felt comfortable with people and knew well how to assess and care for each one of them.

If it is true that dog lovers also know how to care for people, Louise's life would confirm this suspicion. She loved dogs and was especially fond of our dog as well as her own. She had currently adopted one across the street calling it her other Axel.

To know Louise, was to know an angel in disguise. My husband, children, and friends mourn this great loss while extending heartfelt sympathy to her beautiful family. She was a devoted mother, wife, an excellent neighbor and good friend.

The only small consolation we all have now is that we all know Louise is on an extended vacation, and that we will see her later.
