Lucas Salem Obituary
age 20, a lifelong resident of Stamford, CT passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2017. He was the beloved son of Mary Savastano Salem and the late Norman J. Salem, Jr. He was the brother of Angelica Mae Salem, and boyfriend of Mia Vitti. Lucas was the devoted grandson of Orlando L. and Maureen M. Savastano, and Mary B. Salem. He was the nephew of Amy Savastano-Benevides (Carl), Nancy A. Savastano, Jonathan D. Savastano, Joseph Salem (Maria), and James Salem (Joan). Lucas was also the adoring cousin of Ross, Samantha, Andrea, Carl, Jessica, Jonathan, and Christopher.
Lucas was a graduate of Trinity Catholic High in Stamford, CT and took classes at Norwalk Community College. He was employed full time at Marine Max in Norwalk, CT, where he developed many wonderful relationships with his colleagues. Lucas was also a member of the Rhode Island Anglers Association.
Lucas had a zest for life and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His smile and the twinkle in his eyes will be missed but not forgotten. Lucas' passion for the ocean and fishing with his grandfather were his greatest joys. He loved with abandon and would do anything for those fortunate enough to know him. For those who loved him, it is hard to image a world without him.
Calling hours on Thursday, February 9, from 4-8 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Leo's Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT on Friday, February 10 at 11:00am. I am so very, very sorry. I have many fond memories of Lucas in Sr. Marie's 2nd grade. I remember when he brought his new rosary beads to school to show the class. He received them as a gift for his First Holy Communion. He was so please and proud of them. Along with his classmates, I was allowed to see them but not touch them. That's how very special they were to him. May you find comfort in knowing that he was loved by many. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace dear Lucas.

Our love and prayers are with you. Stephen friendship with Lucas since elementary school developed into brotherhood in recent years. I enjoyed seeing Lucas over the house and at many of Steve's backyard bonfires. My Uncle Fr. Stephan Lasko, Cssp said in one of his sermons, "We though many, are one body in Christ" Beyond your home, in faith, Lucas's family include all of his classmates, who loved him dearly. They will continue to honor Lucas in memory and deeds as they live the rest of their lives. We miss him profoundly and please know that we are here for you.

We are so heartbroken about the loss of your son. Both of my sons knew Lucas well (TCHS students) and said he was one of the nicest kids they had ever met. They are both in college now and they each went to mass this past Sunday and lit a candle in his honor.

I knew his father Norman since we were young children and spent our good times together in Easton, Pa. and Providence, R.I. I am so sorry to hear this sad news all of us from the Easton, Pa. area who are related to and friends with the descendants of our Lebanese village who live in Rhode Island, our deeply saddened as we knew his father, his siblings, his parents, his entire Rhode Island family. Many in Canada, Easton, Rhode Island, Australia and our village of Kfarsghab are mourning the loss of this handsome, vibrant, young "son of the village" and we pray he will Rest in Eternal Peace with his father and his father as well. Lucas certainly had a passion for the ocean and fishing.
Although I did not know Lucas well, I had the chance to join him and my son on several amazing fishing trips. The enthusiasm, non stop questions and energy he had were amazing.

Although I was not friends with Lucas, my family was always close with the Salem's through Saint Cecilia's. I remember when I was little Lucas was one of the few boys who was always nice to my brother, even when he had few friends. From what my mom has told me, he was a sweet person who will be dearly missed. My heart and prayers are with all the friends and family of Lucas during this hard time.
