Martha A.H. Luther

LUTHER, MARTHA A.H. age 97, died Tuesday at Royal Nursing Center in Falmouth, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert A. Luther whom she married on June 14, 1936.

Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Prescott W. and Hazel (Thurston) Hilton and had lived in East Greenwich since 1949.

She was a long-time member of the East Greenwich United Methodist Church, a life member of the Mayflower Society and a past president of the East Greenwich Womens Club.

She leaves a son Herbert H. Luther of Waquoit, MA and two daughters, Sally L. Fuller of Acton, MA and Jean L. Ernst of Watertown, MA. She is also survived by six grandchildren Roger P. Cady, Donald L. Cady, Eric B. Cady, Jonathan A. Luther, Carolyn M. Ernst, Juliana E. Bruno, eight great granddaughters and three sisters Ruth H. Green of Warwick, Sally C. Hilton and Mary E. Ostiguy both of North Kingstown.

Relatives and friends may call at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave, West Warwick, Friday, October 26 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Jefferson, ME.
