Martha Silva Obituary

SILVA, MARTHA (GRAVES) 75, of the Rumford Towers, formerly of Pawtucket Ave., Rumford, died early Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014 at the RI Hospital. She was the loving wife of Frank G. Silva Jr. Born Feb. 2, 1939, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Hazelton) Graves. In addition to her husband of 59 years, she leaves her 5 children, Denise Hey and her husband Alvin of North Kingstown, Lucas Silva and his wife Cynthia Holtzman of Warwick, Frank Silva III and his wife Kelley of Pascoag, Martha Brown and her husband Thomas of Hope and Ronald Silva and his wife Ellan of Black River Falls, WI; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Varola of Portsmouth. She was also the grandmother of the late Nicholas Ryan Silva and the sister of the late Maureen Aguiar. Her funeral will begin Saturday at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, 4-8pm. www.rebellofuneralhome.com

Loved her dearly, she touched my heart when I was very young and since have always felt a special connection to her. I'll miss her beautiful sparkling eyes and that wonderful warm smile. Auntie Martha was an amazing woman with a warm heart filled with so much love. She's in your heart and will be there forever. Uncle Frank and family,I am deeply sorry for your loss, I am hoping that your faith will get you through this difficult time.
