Mary Heeder Obituary

HEEDER, MARY JANE (COLA)
63, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Craig J. Heeder. They were happily married for over 36 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jane (Garvin) Cola.
Mary Jane graduated from St. Mary's Academy of the Visitation, and then attended Rhode Island College where she became a Registered Nurse and went on to fulfill her passion of caring for others. Throughout her nursing career, she worked at various medical facilities in Rhode Island, including the V.A. Hospital, where she met the love of her life.
Above all, Mary Jane was happiest when she was surrounded by her husband, children, and precious grandson. Her devotion to her family was unsurpassed. Mary Jane had a heart of gold, and always put the needs of her family and friends before her own. When Mary Jane was not attending one of her childrens' numerous events or taking care of others, you could find her crocheting, attending live musical performances with her husband, or entertaining her family and friends at home. She was always ready for a trip to the store, or to accompany you on your next adventure.
Mary Jane always knew how to make everyone smile. Her family has been very blessed with her unconditional love and outpouring of kindness throughout her life. She will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Besides her husband, Mary Jane is survived by her loving children, Nicholas J. Heeder and his wife Ashley of Narragansett, Katie L. Golec and her husband Joseph of Billerica, MA, Jamie E. Heeder of Coventry, and Jenna M. Heeder of North Kingstown; cherished grandson Nicholas J. Heeder Jr.; her siblings Patricia A. McCormick of North Providence, Jacqueline N. Tiner of South Kingstown, and Robert M. Cola of North Kingstown; many nieces and nephews; and her loyal canine companions, Bella and Craven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Her Funeral Mass and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the PKD foundation in her memory would be appreciated.

Mary Jane was not my cousin and friend first actually we graduated from St Mary's Academy of the Visitation we are two sisters graduated from Mary Jane was two years behind me and her sister Patty was one grade ahead of me well I hung out with Patty's friends so I became friends with Patty but then she introduced me to Mary J so we really didn't have like time to really get to know one another but I really really liked her a lot the next thing I know my cousin Craig whom I love dearly brings this woman home and says Karen this is the woman I'm going to marry will my jaw dropped and she said Aaron is very Jane cooler I was estatic I could not have been happier for the two of them they were true soulmates they parented the same way they always would put Family First daylight all the same kind of recreational things well Mary Jane goes on to marry my cousin Craig and they are ecstatic over one another at that time I always considered her a cousin and I still do even though my marriage she also became a really great friend she was always willing to help you out no matter what and always had that smile on and a laugh so I just wanted to write some stuff that people might not know about my relationship with Mary Jane during the years I became very very close to all her children I used to babysit a lot Bonnie and Crate & Mary Jane did a fabulous job of parenting those girls and Nick are the best and I know that this is going to hit all of them Craig big time with a lot of grief but the longer we can tell stories about her then that will make us laugh so I just wanted to put my two cents in and said that I was absolutely shocked and had to sit down and had to say to clean wait a minute did you say Your mother and she said yes and I sat down I just could not believe it because I would messenger her even though she died couldn't get her messages by she always looked at my story and Craig did the same and then if I had something personal I want to tell her I would just text Craig to tell you the truth I could not have described Mary Jane any better then what her obituary says that net Mary Jane to the T so once again my heartfelt condolences and sympathy and I know we were strong family that we will get through this God bless
