Michael Watson Obituary

WATSON, MICHAEL G., SR., 52, of Ridge Drive, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen M. (McMahon) Watson. They had been married for 19 years.

Born in Providence, a son of A. Dorothy (Rice) Watson of East Providence, and the late George J. Watson. He had lived in East Providence for many years.

Mr. Watson was the Loan Manager Specialist for HUD for 18 years. He started his career as a social worker and later became the Executive Director of the Tenant Affairs Office for the Providence Housing Authority. Previously he was the Social Services Director for the Providence Housing Authority. He received his BA in sociology from R.I. College. He was a member of the US Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Reserve.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Michael G. Watson, Jr., and a daughter, Michelle S. Watson, both of East Providence.

Michael's funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 100 Taunton Ave., East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7 p.m.
