There are a few times in your life when you cross paths with someone who has a lifelong impact on you. I miss our conversations and laughs. I was always amazed how you carried yourself with such grace through your long battle. I think of you and your family often and so grateful to have known you.

While time passes quickly, my fond memories of my dear friend Paul lives on in my heart. We shared so many great times together playing pool, fishing, boating, card nights, and company sales meetings. I think of Paul often and still miss him very much. All the best my friend ! Rest in peace. Dan

My family moved in next door to the Roy's, when I was only 2 years old. Growing up, I didn't know Paul well, except to wave "Hi Paul". I was just a kid when my Mom said that Paul married a beautiful woman and that he worked at the drugstore, down the street. The Roy's were all part of our lives. We were sad when you moved. We missed you all. I'd like to send my condolences to Paul's wife and family, however belated, on behalf of my Mom, the late Bea Machado and myself, Brenda Lee (Machado) Gribbin. My Mom loved all the Roy children and I looked up to them. I always wanted to be just like Charlene and Diane, when I grew up. You all live in my heart and you always will.

Dear Linda, Sarah and Jesse,
No words of mine can mean much now. Your loss is far too great and much too close. But for our Dominican Community at Providence College, in behalf of our alumni and alumnae, and in my own name, we want to make known to you, our deepest sympathy. In the praying we are doing, your father is with us...so are you!

At a time such as this, nothing anyone says makes much sense. (Perhaps better than most I know that.) But it is my hope that the consoling thought of a gifted Trappist monk might help.

Thomas Merton wrote, death is where the hills end, and the stars begin.

Pauls' "hills" are over now! It's his time to be with the "stars" and their Source. It is my hope that the deep, inner Peace that thought can induce, will be with you and your family...especially now.

May Mary, the temple in whom God's Son became a priest, keep you near, in her care.

With His Love and mine,

Shannon Blair

I am sending my deepest sympathies to the Roy family. I remember Paul coming into the DR. office that I had worked for in the Bristol RI area. He was the pharmaceutical rep. for that area. Paul was very very respectful never was rude also had a smile on his face. When I open the paper and saw the picture I said I think I know him. And I continue to read the article and it was him. That was going back a few few years. Always a pleasure to talk to. Just want to say sorry for your lost and may god with you and all his family. God Bless May he rest in peace.

Paul's sense of humor was only outshined by his character. He was a man who did the right thing, consistently, and that made him a rarity among people. Paul, it was an honor and a pleasure to know you -and work along side with you. God rest your soul.

October 11, 2011

My deepest sympathy to the family. I was blessed to have known Paul for the last 23 years. We had many great times together at Reed and Carnrick, and Paul always brought a big smile to my face when I saw him at our annual Christmas party. Paul's love of his family, and the pride he had in his children were very apparent when we met. God Bless, Mike Moran
