Richard Shaw Obituary

SHAW, RICHARD L., 81

of Callender Avenue died Monday, November 10, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center.

He was born in Johnston a son of the late Eugene and Gertrude

(Robertson)

Shaw.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a past member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and a member of the VFW.

He leaves his companion, Bernie Goff; two daughters, Janice Rounds and Samantha Pinto; one step-daughter, Renee Cardozo; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one sister, Roberta Lavoie. He was the father of the late Patricia Shaw and the brother of the late Isabelle Bourget and Harvey Shaw.

His committal service will be held at the R.I. Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter on Tuesday, November 23 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the entrance to the cemetery at 10:45 AM. Arrangements by PERRY/MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME.

Dear Shaw family,

I'm very sorry for your loss. I knew Dick from my days working at Butler Hospital. We also lived in the same East Providence apartment building during the 1980s, where I would occasionally get together with him for some of impish wisdom.

He was a nice guy that a liked a lot. I will always remember him fondly.
