Robert McKENNA Obituary
76 of Cranston passed away peacefully Saturday. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Kiernan) McKenna to whom he was married for 52 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles L. and Margaret E. (Durkin) McKenna, he was a Cranston resident for the last 50 years. Bob was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, Providence College and received his Masters from R.I. College. He was a math teacher at Saint Matthew School from 1963-1967, at Park View Jr, High School from 1967-1998, the last 20 years of which he was department chair. Bob was a longtime communicant and volunteer at St. Paul Church. He coached Edgewood Little League and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Karen McKenna Leavey (Kevin); two sons, Robert J. McKenna, Jr. and David T. McKenna (Andrea); His grandchildren, Stephen, (Maddie), Meghan and Shannon (Audrey); his brother, Leo McKenna, the Belanger family; Ally, Kaitlyn, Maddie and Sami. He was the brother of the late Evelyn McKenna.
His funeral will be Wednesday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Church, 1 St. Paul Place Edgewood at 10 AM. Calling Hours 1 Hour prior to the funeral at 8 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to St. Paul Church will be appreciated. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. www.trainorfh.com.

I was saddened to read about your husband Bob's passing. We were high school classmates at LaSalle Academy and I have very fond memories. He even signed my yearbook. Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences in this difficult time. I will remember him in my prayers.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Bob. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of having Bob as a student at St. Matthew's School. He was good man and fine teacher. May happy memories and our faith help to reduce the sadness that you are now experiencing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

While I am out-of-State and unable to join you for Bob's funeral Mass at St. Paul's, I shall offer a Memorial Mass for him at my earliest possibility. My memory of "Bobby McKenna" goes back to Hamlin Street. He had wonderful, loving parents. He took piano lessons starting as a young boy from my mother, "Mrs. Kramer". He was an excellent student and pianist. After he got married I recall him coming for a lesson with Elizabeth and bringing their new born with them and beaming being so proud! Dear Mrs. McKenna, Karen, Bobby and David, I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I have many memories of Robert Circle and baseball. Even thou your dad was a Yankees fan, he was one of the good Yankee fans. I hope that you will be able to take comfort in the many good times that you all had together.
