When we left the country, to visit our children and grandchildren in Israel, we knew that Shirley was very ill. Nevertheless, it was a shock to return and learn of her loss. Shirley's quiet, soft spoken manner often concealed her brilliance and understanding. She was a valued member of our book group who has been greatly missed since the onset of her illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with Maynard and the entire family.

Shirley was one of the sweetest, most compassionate people I know. She will be sorely missed by her friends. We have very found memories of her with my parents and all their friends and their antics. Love to you all, Stacey (Zisman) and Scott Carter

Shirley's brother Haskell just called me to relate the sad news. I extend my deepest condolences to the whole family. As the senior MOED - MAUDE family genealogist, it will be my painful duty to update our family tree accordingly. I wish, too late, that we had known each other during Shirley's lifetime. May her memory be a blessing to us all!

My condolences to Dr. Shusman and family on the loss of Mrs. Shusman. As a patient of Dr. Shusman in Bristol, I remember Mrs. Shusman as a lovely person. I also remember the thoughtful kindness of both Dr. and Mrs. Susman, even though so many years ago. I hope you can take comfort knowing that hers was a life well-lived, leaving a beautiful legacy for all who knew her. All my best to you.
