Stephanie Eliason Obituary

ELIASON, STEPHANIE MARIE
33, of Warwick, RI passed away suddenly on January 10, 2021. Born and raised in Warwick, she was the daughter of Susan (Hogan) Saillant, and John Eliason. Stephanie graduated from Veterans Memorial High School and went on to become a certified nursing assistant. Most especially, she was the loving mother of her beautiful daughter Ella Grace, age 4.
Stephanie is survived by grandparents Barbara Hogan, Geraldine Eliason and Jack Eliason and predeceased by her grandfather John (Jack) B. Hogan. She leaves her younger brother, Eric Eliason, who will forever treasure his sister and her loving memory. Stephanie and her devoted partner, Anthony DeLuca, were looking forward to planning and spending their lives together. She is also survived by her stepfather, Dennis Saillant, her step-brothers Corey and Kyle Saillant and step-sister Cristina Saillant. She will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who are saddened and devastated at her loss.
Stephanie loved with her whole heart – as a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a niece, and a friend. Her greatest gift, the biggest piece of her heart, and proudest accomplishment was her young daughter. Ella made up the entirety of her world, was the light of Stephanie's life and together, they embraced life's beautiful adventures.
A fierce protector of those she loved, Stephanie was naturally drawn to her calling as a caretaker. At the time of her passing, she and her brother were lovingly caring for their father. She volunteered many of her days caring for her loved ones in need with compassion and understanding. Her ability to connect and have meaningful conversations – even with those who struggle to communicate – was a special gift.
As one of many women in her family, Stephanie loved celebrating the collective strength of women and young girls. She prioritized and helped organize participation in an annual breast cancer awareness walk with many women and breast cancer survivors in her family, raising awareness for an empowering cause dear to her heart.
Stephanie loved big family gatherings where she could catch up with family and Ella could play with many of her young cousins. She loved spending time by the Rhode Island coast, enjoying countless hours at the end of Whipple Avenue with Ella and their pup collecting seashells and learning about new sea life. Her yearly trips to Martha's Vineyard were a special favorite and sharing that tradition with Ella for the past three summers was a blessing and a joy.
Stephanie was surrounded by a village of love – one that will always help Ella know of her mother's strength, beauty, grace, compassion, and unconditional love. Her family is comforted to know they will always have Stephanie to treasure in her daughter. Stephanie is at peace and those who loved her will hold her memory close always.
"I would like to be known as an intelligent woman, a courageous woman, a loving woman, a woman who teaches by being." – Maya Angelou

To the Eliason family,
Words just don’t seem like enough. I’m so sorry on the loss of Stephanie. I did not know her as an adult but remember babysitting for Stephanie and Eric as children and them showing me their pet slugs. I so enjoyed watching them grow through the Christmas cards Susan would send every year. By the words written, it sounds like Stephanie grew into a wonderful young woman with a huge heart.
My heart goes out to her family and friends at this difficult time.
