Stephen Rianna

RIANNA, STEPHEN D. JR . "STEVE-O" 88, of Johnston, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marie C. (Persechino) Rianna. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Stephen D. Rianna, Sr. and Jospehine (Silvaggio) Rianna. Mr. Rianna worked as an Automotive Clerk for the State of Rhode Island for 64 years, retiring in 2008. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific on the USS Vincennes. He was President of the 5th Ward Social Club and was an avid bowler and lifelong New York Yankees Fan. He is survived by his sons and their wives, Stephen B. and Nell Rianna, Gary J. and Maryann Rianna; three grandchildren, Stephen B. and his wife, Jennifer Rianna, Jamie L. and her husband Robert A. Santagata, and Zachary J. Rianna, as well as three great-grandchildren, Nicholas S. Rianna, Mia Grace Rianna and Alex Santagata. He was the brother of the late Angelina Pelino, Domenic Rianna, Maria Dorquilone, Phillip Rianna, Dorothy Iannotti and Arnold Rianna. His funeral will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
