Thomas Cornwall Obituary

CORNWALL, THOMAS 80, of Warwick passed away at home on April 30, 2015. He was the beloved husband of 55 years of Linda (Campbell) Cornwall, with whom he shared a blessed and happy life. Tom was born in Grangemouth, Scotland, the son of John and Isabella (Farquhar) Cornwall. At the age of 18, Tom joined the British Army and served for 2 years, stationed in Egypt. After leaving the Army, Tom became a maritime management apprentice with British Petroleum. A life-long mariner, he rose through the ranks of British Petroleum, Murphy Oil, Pacific Resources, Inc. and BHP Marine. At the end of his esteemed career, Tom was the CEO and owner of Sealock Tanker Company. Tom's career took him and his family around the world, living in London, Yemen, Australia, Hawaii and St. Louis, before settling with Linda in retirement on Warwick Neck. Tom was a communicant of Greenwood Presbyterian Church in Warwick. He was also a member of Tulliallan Golf Club in Scotland, and Warwick Country Club, where he quickly made many friends and shared many rounds of golf with his beloved sons. Through all his travels, Tom had the gift of making everyone around him feel like they were the most special person in the world. Once you met him, he always had a special place in your heart. Besides his wife, Tom is survived by his loving sons, Stephen and his wife, Deborah, of East Greenwich and Stuart and his wife, Sharon, of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by Arlette Cornwall of East Greenwich, Sandra Lawson of Polmont, Scotland and his cherished grandchildren, Alden, Jolie, Katy and Matthew. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 11 am at the Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian, 805 Main Avenue, Warwick, RI, 02886, 401-737-1230. To Linda and family,
So sorry to learn of Toms' passing.
I enjoyed many rounds of golf with Tom and being neighbors with y'all. Also Tom introduced me to single malt scotch which I enjoy just about every day.
