To Mr. Lardner's Family,

You have my deepest sympathy. What a wonderful man your father was, as I'm sure you know. I worked for your father many years ago when he took over the difficult task of getting the Rhode Island Salvage Yards under control. He was tough as he had to be, but never, ever lost his sense of humor--which we all appreciated. He was greatly admired by his coworkers and by the leaders in that tough industry. I do not exaggerate when I say he was a great man, a great boss and a very devoted Christian. May he rest in God's peace. I will always remember him fondly.
