I’m sorry that I am just seeing Tommy’s obit in 2020 after all these years away from RI. We attended St. Paul’s together and hung out a lot with our fellow 7th an 8th graders there, after school. We had so many laughs together and got into some mischief along the way. When you look back on your life you remember the good people you met and the laughs and experiences. Tommy “Murf” was one of those guys. May he rest in eternal peace.

To Teresa Murphy - no one should lose a child - at any age. I was a classmate of Tom's at St. Paul's for 8 years, graduating in 1971. I think he was the first boy - other than the Beatles, of course - I ever had a crush on (probably because of that red hair and oh so pleasant personality.) My brother, Ed, worked with Tom at Amica for over 30 years and always said he was a great friend. My condolences also to Debra & Tom's daughter and 2 sons.Facebook has a St. Paul's page, so I will post this sad notice to inform the rest of our class. Sending oodles and oodles of good karma to all of you

Our deepest sympathy to the Murphy Family. This came as a shock to us and we want you to know that Tommy is in our prayers. Many were the happy days at his Aunt Agnes's house playing with all the Bacon kids.

Dear Pam and Melissa,

The world is a much drabber place without Tom. The man helped keep me sane during our Amica tenure. His courage, laughter and insistance on speaking his mind marked his every interaction, and I loved it!

Our prayers go out to you and the rest of your family. We wish you hope and comfort.

Dear Pam and family,
Bob and I are in S.C. and just learned of Tom's death. We are so sorry. We had many Amica trips with Tom and they were always enriched by Tom's humor, intelligence and general silliness. We had a ball, just the 3 of us. What a terrible loss. So many of our conversations were about you and your children and how so very proud he was of all you. Our hearts are broken for you. We hoped we would be in rocking chairs laughing.. Hold on tight to all the wonderful memories and stories, I hope they are a comfort.
