Vincent Izzo Obituary

IZZO, VINCENT T., 76, of Warwick, died Saturday, July 9, 2005 at RI Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Haiganush R. Bedrosian, Associate Justice of the RI Family Court and the late Bernadette (LeDuc) Izzo.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Andrew and Antonetta (Russo) Izzo, he moved to Narragansett in 1984 and to Warwick in 1996.

Mr. Izzo was a self employed Licensed Public Accountant for over 50 years. He received his B.S. Degree in Accounting in 1951 and his Masters Degree in Accounting in 1953 from the University of RI. Mr. Izzo was the former Finance Director and Treasurer for the City of Providence, former Deputy State Treasurer for the State of RI and finished his public service as Town Manager of Narragansett. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947 and from 1953-1955, where he supervised medical procurements for all hospitals in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a member and past president of the RI and New England Government Finance Officers Association, a member and served on the Board of Directors of the RI Public Accounting Association, a member and 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Dillon Council, North Providence and past trustee of Blessed Sacrament Church, Providence.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son; Vincent T. Izzo, Jr. and his wife Karen of Johnston, two grandchildren; Vincent T. Izzo, III and Laura D. Izzo and a brother; Andrew Izzo of Hialeah, FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave., Providence, followed by entombment with Military Honors in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Tuesday 4-8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Ocean Tides, 635 Ocean Rd., Narragansett, RI 02882.

Dear Mrs. Izzo,



My brother Richard was a very good friend of Vinnie's and would be very saddened by his death and your loss. They were on the football team at Mt. Pleasant HS in the mid 40's. Richard passed away on Sept. 2001.
