Vincent Montecalvo Obituary
77, of Smithfield, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Catalano) Montecalvo for 48 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincent "Jimmy" and Norma (Conca) Montecalvo.
Vincent earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University and operated his law practice from offices in Warwick and Providence. He was a Probate Judge for the Town of Smithfield and a beloved and respected member of the Rhode Island Bar for nearly 50 years.
Vincent was a devoted and loving family man. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Craig Montecalvo, Esq. and his wife Lara and Keith Montecalvo and his wife Karen; a brother, Donald F. Montecalvo, PhD; a sister, Carolyn Ranucci; and his two treasured grandchildren, Landon and Matthew Montecalvo.
His funeral will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 8:15 a.m. from MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Vincent's memory may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis,, TN 38105. maceroni.com

Vin represented me in settling the affairs of my mother following her death in 2010. Since I live in Pennsylvania, most of our correspondence was through the mail, e-mail, and telephone. We only met once, briefly, on the day of her funeral, but I always felt that I was working with a friend who had my best interests in mind. Vin's kindness and generosity have affected me greatly; I rarely tell lawyer jokes anymore.

Vinny will be greatly missed, and his warmth, kindness, gentle spirit and professional excellence will be remembered forever. My favorite childhood memories have been times spent with my cousins Vinny, Donald, and Carol.
