William Lieberman Obituary

LIEBERMAN, WILLIAM of Wellesley, MA formerly of Newton, MA on Sunday, January 2, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (Gruenewald). Loving father of Dr. Lisa Lieberman Sack & her husband Dr. Steven Sack of East Greenwich, RI and Joan Perlman & her husband Walter Perlman of Marlborough, MA. Cherished grandfather of Jordan, Daniel, Benjamin, Ruth and Samantha. Son of the late Jacob and Lina Lieberman. Dear brother of the late Saul Lieberman. Brother-in-law of Frederick P. Gruenewald and devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews. Loving friend of Gloria Epstein. Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard St., Brookline, MA on Wednesday, January 5 at 11:00AM. Burial to follow at Lindwood Memorial Park, Randolph, MA. Memorial observance at his late residence immediately following the burial through 9:00PM on Wednesday, on Thursday at the home of Lisa & Steven Sack, 7PM-9PM and Saturday at the home of Joan & Walter Perlman, 7PM -9PM. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or The American Jewish Committee, 126 High St., Boston, MA 02110.

Dear Lisa and Joan and families,
I had the privilege of working for your Dad from when I started in IRS in 1967 until 1980. In our final years together, he was my direct supervisor. I never heard him utter a mean or petty word against anyone. He was, in every sense, a true gentleman. I had lunch with him in 2009 at the Boston District Quarter Century club while I was visiting Boston. Though he had aged, like everyone does, he was still very sharp, his sense of humor very much in tact and as always, was the complete gentleman. May God rest his soul.
