To the entire Lowney family,
Please except my heartfelt condolences. Dr. Lowney sounded like a wonderful man and I am sure he will be missed by many. Had I known earlier, Bill and Joan, I would have attended the wake (I just saw the card of thanks in today's paper). Stay strong.

I am so sorry for your loss-I missed the obituary. Dr. Lowney and I go back to Cranston General. I remember reading the old newspaper article he had on the wall of his office about his Dad and the Lowney family. Certainly a legace to be proud of. I have yet to go to a doctor's office that is as punctual as his.

I will miss so many things about my Dad. Some things he passed on to me like the silly things he would do with us, i find myself doing with my kids. He used to sing sort of like an opera man when he talked sometime and do a silly dance. He would drive over in the middle of a snowstorm after shoveling because my kids had the great idea to have a lemonade stand. he would stand there and say "i've been shoveling all morning and i could sure use a refreshing cup of lemonade!" he would order seconds and my girls and i loved it. he was their best and only customer.
i will miss the way he gave me advice about political stuff i should probably already know. but he would explain it to me anyway. and the way he would listen to my ER stories and diagnose people from his chair at home when doctors there all day were confused. Life for many of us will not be the same. We just have to find the courage to continue living life to the fullest, that is what he would want us to do. I love you Dad and will miss you painfully.

My Grampa always made me laugh when I would run around his house making noise. He would say..."don't make me get the shillelagh!" Then I would run into the den and be quiet... sort of. I will miss his hugs and kisses. I miss him a lot. Faith Maloney

Mrs. Lowney, Kim, and all of the Lowney family,
Although it has been many years since I have seen Dr. Lowney, I will never forget the time your family took me to New York to see my first Broadway Musical-Fiddler on the Roof. It was a wonderful weekend and a perfect example of how kind and loving you family has always been. In latter years, we remember fun times at the Bonnet Shore beach house. Memories can last forever-he will be remembered. Please except our condolences.

We are so sorry for the loss of your husband, dad, grandpa, and of course my brother-in-law who many years ago made the best ice cream cones for me at manny martin's columbia pharmacy in fall river when i was a little girl. bill always teased me about that! on a professional basis he helped me through a tough time when post-op i was very sick he had to take care of me being the covering surgeon at cranston general. he certainly treated me like a queen and was very gentle and caring. i will always remember that. we will miss him. he's now having a feast of clamboil in heaven with mimere and grandpa!

I worked at Cranston General in 1982 , we were having a really busy day/night with a lot of surgical pts. It was near Easter and a pt. had this huge inflatable bunny in her room. Dr Bill was helping out, going to the room with a streacher to get his next surgical case. The inflatable bunny had been placed on the empty bed , he went into the room , put the bunny on the streacher and started to walk down the hall as if that were his pt!1 It made every onethere, pt. and staff feel better , stop to take a breath and then get back to the task at hand. What a guy!! Sad to hear of his passing.
