VENICE, Fla. — Edward Michael McDade, 70, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Pittston, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.
Edward was born Nov. 2, 1950, in Kingston. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years until his retirement. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam war from 1967 to 1970 and received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with '60 Device, Army Commendation Medal and a Parachute Badge. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Venice, played in the Venice Senior Softball league for eight years and loved eating pizza.
He is survived by his son, Eric McDade, of Venice, Fla.; sisters, Maureen, of San Antonio, Texas, Judy, of Pittston, and Donna, of Venice, Fla.; and brothers, Billy, Matthew and Brian, all of Pittston.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Leon and Teresa Alice Brewster McDade, and his brother, Keith.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021, 2 p.m. at the Sarasota National Cemetery, located at 9210 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34238.
