Oh my, Words or space could never be enough today how empty and alone I feel with the passing of my Pop. He was a cut above,a rare jewel.He was always at Mama's beckon call,and provided for her every need when she could no longer attend to her personal care.He spoiled her with his love and undivided attention.Mama lost her eyesight a few years before she passed away..her whole life was changed,no more tv,crossword puzzles, yatzee games or dominoes, crocheted pot holders were in the past. Don would put CDs in the DVD player of her favorite old country stars.Marty Robbins would sing and she would join in.This was her new pastime..She loved to sing.
Don loved my Mama so much,and missed her terribly.
His job with the agriculture department took he and Mama to different parts of the country.He was Head of the rice division.He spoke highly of his fellow workers,and stayed in contact with most of them after he retired. The sweet cards everyone sent will be cherished.Thanks so much.
It was my honor and privilege to be His caregiver the last 9 months..It kept me busy and occupied my time and helped me overcome the grief and loss of losing my sweet Mama and brother Joe within 2 months of each other.
Although Don wasn't my blood Father,He was my special Dad for 56 yrs.The best grandfather to my girls,and my Grands. He is finally with his sweetheart and wife Evelyn again. I can't help but think he's smiling. Happy with Mama.See you soon Pop,Mama and Joe.^j^

Don was a wonderful person my husband worked with him for a few years and I and Evelyn was good friends We use to play cards together just about every week end when we lived in Maryland So sorry for your loss know he will he greatly missed

I will miss papa, he was a great man that I loved very much. He was great with my mom, loved and took care of her when she needed care. He was one of a kind, and if you needed anything he was always there with a smile on his face. And I wanted to say thanks to my sister and niece Linda and Amy, for taking care of him when he needed it.

We were very saddened to here of Don's passing. HE was much loved b y his family in Illinois. And we were very happywhen he found and married Evelyn. I had hoped that I would get to meet her and get to see him again but it was not to be . Mydeepest sympathy to all her family and thank you for your care and kindness to him during his illness
